I am a Glasgow base artist filmmaker and my work references a range of subjects, from contemporary social issues and political systems, to notions of escapism. I am especially interested in the current wave of filesharing and remixing.
Help! Our Children Are Pirates is a new project currently in the very early stages of development. The potential for what it might become is unlimited! This is because the whole project will be open source under the Creative Commons License. Any media uploaded is intended to be shared and used by anyone.
Thus far the film and music industry seems to have responded negatively to what they have branded as “piracy.” Should industries still be making money from copyright laws initially designed to protect the individual artist?
