VENUE: MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA AND SHEFFIELD, UK
CROSSOVER LAB INITIATIVE
OzEuXo will bring together 24 documentary / factual film, games and digital media producers (12 from Europe and 12 from Australia), in two reciprocal cross-platform creative and commercial development Labs. Participants will benefit from intensive professional networking and privileged access to content markets, commissioners and buyers, in Australia and Europe.
OzEuXo is a guided, graduated process designed to facilitate the development of international co- productions of cross-platform and transmedia projects between European and Australian companies.
OzEuXo is funded by the MEDIA Mundus program, Film Victoria and a number of European partners. It is being organised and presented during 2011 by Crossover Labs and the Sheffield Doc/Fest.
The first OzEuXo (Creative) Lab, organised by Sheffield Doc/Fest in collaboration with Film Victoria and Crossover Labs, will take place in Melbourne, Australia in April 2011. International mentors will support participants to form international cross-disciplinary teams and formulate potential co- production projects during the Lab to present as first-stage ideas to Australian funders.
The second OzEuXo (Development) Lab will be organised by Sheffield Doc/Fest and Crossover Labs, supported by Film Victoria and will take place in Sheffield immediately before Doc/Fest in June 2011. Mentoring from a team of international experts will prepare the projects for pitching to a panel of European, Australian and international commissioning editors.
All 24 participants will network at Sheffield Doc/Fest (with over 1,800 delegates), with privileged access to the MeetMarket, one of Europe’s most significant markets for factual and cross-platform content.
